A "PastelLithe" is an artwork of pastel drawn on a stone. This is a new art technique created by Marie-Lydie Joffre. The stone is more than a medium; the artist draws her inspiration from the stone's veins and contours, using the minerals' excrescencies for defining shapes. |

From this dialogue with stone, object of ancestral memory, Marie-Lydie Joffre draws the quintessence without ceding to the temptation of artifice. Marie-Lydie Joffre is an artist who can make desirable the contours of this medium, so raw and barely sensual.
